The Ten Minute Call

Ask questions. Get direction. No cost.

How do I use my time most wisely?

It’s best to take a little bit of time to prepare before calling. Then you will use your time most wisely and get the most from your call.

Here are some suggestions

  • Review some of the other First Step Resources before you call. You will then be ahead of the game and ask better questions.
  • Write down your two most important questions. Of course, you may have only one question: “I don’t know what to do next. Can you point me in the right direction?”
  • Rather than launching into a full history of your addicted loved one, give just a few facts: What is the drug being used? (Remember, alcohol is a drug.) What are the recent negative consequences of the drug use? How is the addicted person supporting his or her addiction?

When calling, let us know you’re using First Step Resources & The 10-Minute Call.
