The training will feature an advanced and challenging curriculum. Attendees will receive custom curriculum and field materials in hard copy, available exclusively to program participants. The training will include structured experiential learning to build skills and confidence. It will also help participants build their own intervention practice.

The McIver Center at The Retreat

The package includes the 5-day training, 30 CEUs, a private room for 5 nights, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, training materials,  and a welcome dinner and orientation hosted by Jeff and Debra Jay.

Official seal of a Love First Certified Clinical InterventionistParticipants who successfully complete the training and the supervision of their first three cases will be eligible to become Love First Certified Clinical Interventionists, and they will be entitled to display this seal on their website. This elite status connotes educational achievement, clinical experience and comprehensive training. People who have achieved this status will be first among their peers in the world of professional intervention and will stand out to the general public and the treatment community by displaying this seal.

Every attendee will enjoy a private sleeping room at the McIver Center at The Retreat, included in the tuition. This home-like facility is located in the Wayzata Big Woods–a private preserve in the middle of a picturesque small town near the shores of Lake Minnetonka.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Daily snacks and wifi are also included. This retreat-style setting is ideal for experiential learning and close collaboration with fellow training participants.

Application & Requirements for the Clinical Interventionist Training

The Love First clinical interventionist training and certification is open to experienced clinicians and clergy only. We believe the job of an interventionist is an advanced position and not a job for beginners.

In order to register for this training, a participant must meet the following requirements:

  • Advanced degree in relevant field + certification (CAC, CAP, etc.) -or-
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-year  + certification (CAC, CAP or other)
  • AND
  • 3 yrs full-time or 5 yrs part-time professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of 12-Step programs.
  • CLERGY, EAPs, and others with strong experience but fewer professional credentials will be considered. Send us your resume.
