Ken VanElslander is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Michigan, specializing in mental health and chemical dependence treatment. Ken has a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy with an emphasis in Addictions. He has also completed Love First Clinical Intervention Training and Certification at The Betty Ford Center. He is certified by the State of Michigan as an Advanced Addictions Drug Counselor.
Ken believes in a Humanistic, Holistic view of counseling with a non-pharmaceutical approach to healing and wellness. He has enjoyed 37 years of marriage with his lovely wife Jan (a RN and Certified Yoga Instructor) and they have three adult children.
Ken began a professional career out of Central Michigan University and worked for the family business for 30 years before retiring from the office of the President in 2008. He joined the Board of Brighton Hospital in March of 2009 and became the Director of the Hospital now known as Brighton Center for Recovery in September of 2011. He now works in private practice and does clinical interventions and Structured Family Recovery™ counseling for Love First.
